Leroy Invents Rooster Kabobs
Leroy was walking down the boardwalk, just enjoying the day, when he came across an empty storefront.
It was nothing special yet — just a vacant little place with a For Lease sign in the window — but Leroy stopped and looked at it for a while.
He started imagining what kind of restaurant could go there.
Looking around at everything people were eating and buying along the boardwalk, he decided the answer was obvious:
Rooster kabobs.
A few minutes later, he had a name too.
Leroy’s Rooster Kabobs.
In Leroy’s head, the empty storefront was already transformed. He could see the sign out front, the grill going, cold beer being served, and people stopping in for kabobs.
Then he noticed the For Lease sign again.
That was a problem.
Leroy had an idea for a restaurant.
What he did not have was money to lease a storefront on the boardwalk.
Then he remembered the old abandoned shack hidden in the woods.
It had been sitting empty for years. Nobody seemed to use it, and as far as Leroy knew, nobody was paying much attention to it.
To Leroy, that made it perfect.
The boardwalk restaurant would have to wait.
The shack could be the beginning.
Leroy convinced himself that starting in the woods was not a setback. It was just the first step toward eventually opening the real boardwalk location.
So he left the boardwalk with a restaurant name, a business plan that existed mostly in his head, and one immediate goal:
Go see if the shack was still standing.
